The journey into the world of horticulture began at a very young age. My grandfather and grandmother loved to garden! They nurtured me with that passion for the garden, the outdoors, nature. When we visited we were always outside. Overtime, my grandfather cultivated in me a deep empathy for nature and the culture of the wild. At a young age I understood the need for me to be responsible to nature. And the need to be mindful of the plants and the ground they grow in. "Mother earth and father sky", the soul of life.
45 years later I found myself in the midst of a career change. I decided to pursue my love of nature and the outdoors. So in the fall of 2013 I went back at school at Algonquin College and enrolled in their Horticulture Industries Program. And in the spring of 2015 Canton's Mindful Gardens was launched and I began delivering responsible horticultural services throughout the Ottawa Valley.
